ZHANAT K. NURBEKOVA
dean of the Faculty of Informational Technologies Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov Professor, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Academician of IAI, Academician of APS RK
She was born in the village of Bastaushy in the Samarck district of the Eastern-Kazakhstan Region. From 1982 to 1985 she studied at the Republican Physics-and-Mathematics school in Almaty. From 1985 to 1990 she studied at Tomsk State University named after V. Kuibyshev, the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics, on the specialty “Applied Mathematics”.
She did her post-graduation course at Almaty State University named after Abay from 1994 to 1998 (now it is Kazakhstan National Pedagogical University named after Abay), in 1999 she was awarded an academic degree “Candidate of Pedagogy on the specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methodology of teaching and up-bringing (Informatics)”, the thesis is “Development of the system of probabilistic and statistic preparation of pupils in a mainstream school in the terms of informatization of education”.
In 2007 she successfully defended her dissertation for a competition of an academic degree “Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences” on the thesis “Theoretic and methodological bases for Programming teaching by the fundamental training for teachers and specialists of Informatics” on the specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methodology for teaching and up-bringing (Informatics, Informatization of education). Mrs. Nurbekova was awarded an academic degree of Professor on the specialty “Pedagogy” in 2010.
Scientific and pedagogic activity
Her scientific and pedagogic activity began in 1990, from that period she carried on her professional career and had positions as a teacher, a senior teacher (at Pavlodar Pedagogical Institute); a docent, a Deputy Principal at Natural Sciences Institute, a senior researcher, a head department of Informatics, a head department of Informatics and Informational systems, a head of the center of informatization of education, a dean of the faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Informational Technologies (at Pavlodar State University named after S. Toraigyrov).
Mrs. Nurbekoba was awarded an academic degree of a docent on the specialty “Informatics, Computer Engineering and Management” in 2003.
From 2011 Zhanat K. Nurbekova began to work at Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov as a head department of Informatics, and from September 2011 as a dean of the Faculty of Informational Technologies.
More than 200 scientific works have been published in domestic and foreign journals, proceedings of international conferences and in scientometric bases Web of Science and Scopus. Mrs. Nurbekova is an author of 2 monographs, 30 electronic textbooks, volumes of digital educational resources and computer programs (electronic designer of course context, tests, antiplagiarism and informational system).
From 2010 Mrs. Nurbekova is an Academician of Pedagogical Sciences in the Republic of Kazakhstan (APS RK), and from 2011 – an Academician of International Academy of Informatization (IAI, Almaty), from 2009 – a member of the editorial board in the journal “Open and distant education” (Tomsk city, Russia) of the International Association “Siberian Open University”.
Under her guidance 7 Candidate theses and more than 30 Master’s dissertations have been defended. Also she managed the scientific project “Service for design, animation and computer programming for interactive multi-media digital educational resources” conducted in the frame of budget program 052 “Methodological supply for educational system” (2012). Mrs. Z. Nurbekova guided the scientific applied project “Working out digital educational resources at Eurasian National University named after L. Gumilyov ” which was designed for making pedagogical and technological scenarios, sound effects, computer design, animation, illustration, and 3D-modelling, programming interactive multi-media digital resources (2013, 2014).
Awards
For the great contribution in the development of education and science Mrs. Nurbekova was awarded with the gold medal named after S. Toraigyrov (2010), the breastplate named after Y. Altynssarin (2010), the prize named after K. Satpaev for the contribution in the development of science in the Pavlodar Region (2010), Committee Sokrat’s medal “The name in science”, Oxford, Great Britain (2014), the letter of thanks by N. Nazarbaev – President and Leader of the Nation (2015). In the collaboration with famous scientists she became a winner of the exhibition IT AWARDS KAZAKHSTAN with the presentation of the best project on Automatized system of management at the University (2009). Zhanat K. Nurbekova obtained a grant of Foundation of the First President of RK in the field of EUI (2011), she won the competition “Innovative informational and pedagogical technologies in the system of IT-education-2013” at Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov, Moscow, Russia (2013). Also Mrs. Nurbekova was awarded with the title “the best teacher at KZ Universities” (2009, 2015).
